A fundamental skill of seamanship is being able to maneuver a vessel with accuracy and precision, hence a good mariner is a good ship-handler. In similar fashion, we feel that a our frosted Royal Nautical goblets are "First Rate" beverage handlers! Enjoy the crisp, cool, nautical design on our goblets that rest easy in the heat of long summer days.
How do you recycled glass and create something beautiful? The transformation begins when our supplier receives bottles from recyclers all over North America, The bottles are washed and sterilized. The bottle is separated into two components; 'head' & 'base' . The 'head' (upper portion of the bottle) and 'base' (lower portion of the bottle) are smoothed, and then fire polished. The base becomes a tumbler or goblet. The neck is then heated, twisted to close it off and finally the original mouth of the bottle is 'flared' to form the new foot of the glass. The newly formed tumblers and goblet s then travel through an annealing (tempering) oven to remove all residual stress in the glass. These glasses are made from reclaimed Bordeaux bottles and are made from 100% recycled glass.
